Escaneo — Document Scanner with OCR
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Escaneo ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you ("the User") and nezdev ("we", "the Developer").
2. Description of Service
Escaneo is a document scanning application for iOS and Android that allows you to:
- Scan documents using your device camera with automatic edge detection
- Extract text from scanned documents using OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
- Export scanned documents as PDF, JPG, or TXT
- Scan multiple pages into a single document
- Share scanned documents via email, messaging, or cloud storage
The App processes all information locally on the User's device.
3. OCR Accuracy — Disclaimer
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The OCR text recognition feature provides approximate results based on image analysis algorithms. OCR output is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate.
- OCR accuracy depends on image quality, font type, language, lighting conditions, and document condition.
- The App may produce incorrect, incomplete, or garbled text ("OCR errors"), especially with handwritten text, unusual fonts, or damaged documents.
- nezdev does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of OCR results. The User must verify extracted text before relying on it for legal, financial, medical, or other critical purposes.
- nezdev is not responsible for any consequences arising from the use of inaccurate OCR output.
4. Document Management — Limitations
- Scanned documents are saved to your device storage. nezdev is not responsible for loss of saved documents due to device failure, storage issues, or accidental deletion.
- We strongly recommend backing up important scanned documents to external storage or cloud services of your choice.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
5.1 Free Version
The free version includes core functionality with usage limits and advertisements.
5.2 Escaneo Premium
Escaneo may offer a premium subscription that includes:
- Unlimited scans and exports
- Ad-free experience
- Advanced OCR features
- Batch processing without limits
5.3 Payment Processing
- All payments are processed through Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- nezdev does not have access to User payment information.
5.4 Renewal and Cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before expiration.
- To cancel:
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Escaneo → Cancel
- Android: Google Play Store → Subscriptions → Escaneo → Cancel
- No refunds for partial periods.
5.5 Refunds
Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google per their respective policies.
6. Intellectual Property
- The App and all its components are the exclusive property of nezdev.
- A limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license is granted for personal, non-commercial use.
- Reverse engineering, modification, or redistribution is prohibited.
7. User Conduct
- Use the App only for its intended purposes.
- Do not scan documents you do not have the right to reproduce or distribute.
- Do not use the App for illegal activities or to infringe on third-party rights.
- Do not bypass free version restrictions or subscription mechanisms.
8. Service Availability
- nezdev does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
nezdev disclaims all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy of OCR results.
10. Limitation of Liability
- nezdev shall not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of scanned documents, inaccurate OCR output, or device damage.
- Total cumulative liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the User in the past 12 months, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
The User agrees to indemnify nezdev from any claims arising from the User's misuse of the App, violation of these Terms, or violation of third-party rights (including intellectual property rights related to scanned content).
12. Modifications
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
13. Termination
- nezdev may terminate access at any time without notice.
- The User may terminate by uninstalling the App.
- Sections 3, 9, 10, and 11 survive termination.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Developer's jurisdiction.
15. General Provisions
- Severability: Invalid provisions do not affect the remainder.
- Waiver: Failure to exercise a right does not waive it.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the full agreement.
